Mother’s Day

So very true.

When people with kids used to tell me “oh just wait until you have children, it’s a love you have never experienced”

I really didn’t understand that. I thought ehhh I’ve been in love, I know what it’s like.

But woahhhh man. It is truly something that changes your life tremendously and changes your entire being. It opens your heart and guards it at the same time. I can’t even explain the love that you will have for your children. I am truly obsessed with them. In the super creepiest way. I watch them sleep, I smell them, I hold them when they don’t want to be held. Hahaha. Ok wee bit creepy there. But really. The love is real. And I’m obsessed with my babes.

So. This past weekend we went to the zoo and got there and discovered they were hosting a company function for over 4,000 guests. So maybe next time! Instead we ventured out to Jax Beach and did what we do best. Went to all the thrift stores. Also eating at all the roadside peanut huts along the way. Oh and got extra large smoothie from Tropical Smoothie.

When we got home we prepared for the derby race like natural kentuckians by going to get 3 lbs of BBQ from Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen and the ingredients for Mint Julips. {go to Gilbert’s if you have never been, heck go again if you have been} so good. Very southern atmosphere. I totally dig it.

So we all wrote down our horse winner predictions. Riley said she wanted to play (of course) so we told her all the names of the horses. She said:

“My winners are Lani, Suddenbreakingnews, & My Boy Maxi” –which is ‘My Man Sam.’

We finished up the night with The Bridge {obsessed} and popcorn in bed.

Mother’s Day on Sunday was amazing. We spent the day at American Beach with the girls and my mom and sister and my brother and his girlfriend. We had a huge feast with publix fried chicken, green beans, potato salad, Hawaiian rolls, macaroni salad and oatmeal cookies for dessert. We drank coronas and played bocce ball for hours. Came home ate more BBQ and snuggled in for the night.

Oh and this was Mark on my first Mother’s Day.

I had to work that day and that is what I came home to. Also Riley had the same exquisite artwork on her onesie. It was precious. He wins!

Riley graduates VPK this weekend! I can’t believe it! She is growing so fast! Another thing you don’t truly understand until you have kids. And one minute you are holding them in your arms as they first open their eyes for the first and the next minute they are prancing around in their high heel shoes for graduation.

Clip on earrings and all. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

And Ella too. She is getting so so big! Still having some anxiety issues lol. Extremely sassy. This is her and I during a diaper change:

And this is my couch after Riley said she was going to “give Ella a bite of her zebra cake”

Yes. My poor couch.

Ummmm Orange Is The New Black trailer released today.

Dead. Gahhhhhhhh can’t wait.

Where the hell is Matt Mcgorry?!?

Come back Bennet, do the right thing ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

My latest fave song ๐ŸŽถ

The Chainsmokers ft. Daya – Don’t let me down.

Do yourself a solid and look up the song, play it and blast the volume.

So I won’t have recipes on these posts anymore, I will post them in a seperate post under food & bev and I will have some good eats coming this week so stay tuned ๐Ÿด

My life. Always.

Alrighty see ya soon. Love ya. Bye.
