Shopkins & shrimp! 

Hello peeps

Welllll the shrimp festival is upon us. Time to book a flight the hell outta here. Jk. Kinda. Traffic is a bit extreme, food is overpriced, and it’s usually hot as the dickens. But hey it’s hard to resist good ol’ shrimp fest. I’ll be there with the babes, eating something 😝

So if it’s not one thing around here it is always another. Ever since having Ella I have had some issues with my stomach, like the muscles. They have just not felt right, and I always have stomach pain. Like always. So it got so bad the other night I had to go to the ER. I literally thought I had a hernia. ACTUALLY… I have something called Diastasis Recti. Mark calls it T-REX because he says it sounds like the name of a dinosaur 😑. In reality it feels like a T-REX is inside my stomach and clawing out of it. He also said:

“If you’re having stomach cramps, can’t you just take some menstraw or some minestrone?”

Me- “you mean midol mark?”

😑.

Apparently my second pregnancy with Ella stretched my abdomen core really far and wasn’t quite strong enough to heal back together so it has slowly continued to stretch. So “lightly and carefully strengthening my abdomen core” is what will be happening with that. Just perks of being a mom. Stretch marks, bags under your eyes, smashed food on your shirt (currently happening to me), oh and diastasis recti stomach. How can those two little nuggets manage to ruin me yet complete me every single day?

Riley had a little virus or something going on this morning- she woke up complaining of a stomach ache, so we piled up on the couch and turned on a movie and then all of a sudden she just throws up on the floor. She is upset for a second and then is completely normal like nothing is wrong. Then a few minutes later throws up again, except this time it’s in the trash can. Again all nonchalant. Then just immediately playing, laughing, jumping, spinning, eating. I’m like what is happening here? If I even have a small thought that I might throw up, I’m done for. I’m calling my self an ambulance. Hook my IV up and wheel me in buddy because I’m not dealing with throwing up. No sirree bob. But Riley was ret-ta-go.

Eating dinner tonight:

Riley- “daddy how do you make broccoli?”

M- “baby it’s a plant, you grow it”

R- “how do you make the seed?”

M- “what do you mean?”

R-“ok, let me tell you, broccoli grows from a seed, how exactly do you make the seed dad?”

😂 sassafras Riley.

Then:

Ella is eating black beans with her dinner.

R-“momma what do black beans beans taste like?”

Me-“well baby they just taste like beans”

R-“do they taste like a bag of hair?”

Me-“a bag of hair??”

R-“yeah”

😳.

I’m ready for a vacation.

Recipe time 🍴

Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs {Ashley style}

So I did the Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs again, I mean I make them all the time because hey are delicious. But this time I did a quick version and I probably will do it this way forever lol.

So I bought the pre made fresh meatballs at publix, back in the meats. Not frozen. Then I got my pack of string cheese, pasta noodles (I used thin spaghetti this time but have used tons of others before, all good), fave red sauce (publix had buy 1 get 1 on some), and shredded mozzarella cheese and shredded Parmesan cheese. Oh and Italian seasoning!

Super easy- so I took 6 or 7 cheese sticks and cut them into chunks. Then set them in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Once they are pretty chilly, I start placing them inside my meatballs. I just made a little hole with my thumb and stuck it in forming the meat ball around it. Once all stuffed I placed them in a casserole dish and covered them with the whole jar of red sauce. Sprinkle a good portion of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top, bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Make sure meat is cooked through, boil your pasta and all done. Dinner is served.



Chicken Verde {Pinterest inspired & hated it}

So this recipe was something I saw on Pinterest and I liked the idea of it. So I decided to kinda re work the recipe a little bit. That was a disaster. I can’t even tell you the original recipe but mine was- chicken breast, lime juice, 2 packs of verde sauce, a bud light lime, and cumin. Blahhhhhhh it was gross. First of all bud light lime was my first mistake 😂😂😂. Then the 2 packs of sauce was too much. It didn’t go over well people. It tasted like Mexican chicken with 3 day old bud light lime poured on it. Are anybody else’s kids obsessed with Shopkins? Because it’s real over at the hogan house. Riley takes them with us places and literally gives them a bath. All 55 of them, in the sink. Almost everyday. Cray cray.
